What is Off Airport Parking?
Simply means the car park is not actually situated within the airport complex. The car park is normally a 5 to 10 minute drive away and all companies that operate ‘off airport’ car parks provide free transfer direct to the airport, dropping you off in front of the terminal building.
The off airport car parks tend to be cheaper than on airport but be aware of the delays caused by the need to use the transfer bus or coach.
Carparking with Hotel Booking
One of the tricks is to book a hotel room many airport hotels offer a certain number of days of cheap or free parking. Once again you often need to book months early.
Frequency of Transfers to Airport
Simply how often the shuttle/courtsey bus service runs from the car park to the terminal building within the airport. Mostly applies to off-airport car parks as with an on airport car park you can usually just walk to the terminal from your vehicle. However, some on airport car parks do provide a transfer service if there is a large distance between the car park and terminal.
Services tend to run every 10-15 mins but some operate on request, ie: when you arrive at the car park report to reception, the parking company request a transfer bus to take you to the terminal.
